Storm Damage and Wood Floors
It is unfortunate for any home that has wood floors to have storm damage. Bacteria from the flood water soak up in the wood and need to be replaced. Flood water is "grossly contaminated" and considered a Category 3 water loss. Flood insurance will pay for the wood floors to be removed and restored.
Flood cuts are also needed to remove the contaminated drywall and allow airflow behind walls to dry areas that are hard to reach.
Although the homeowners were upset about the loss of their wood floors, they were grateful for the quick turnaround of their flood-damaged home.
